Helping Youth Make a Difference in their communities
Each year, close to a thousand students design programs that address the health of more than 10,000 Ohio residents. Not only are these students making a significant impact on the health of their communities, they are also gaining valuable pipeline for professional development in a field that desperately needs it to help maintain the health and wellness of Ohio citizens.
Health Professional Affinity Community (HPAC)
The Health Professions Affinity Community, or more commonly known as HPAC, provides opportunities to students who are interested in the health professions with an emphasis on community outreach and health disparities. Students work in groups to identify a health concern in their own community, then design a project that will address it by having a meaningful impact on their community.
Corps For Rural and Urban Health Success
CRUSH, an AmeriCorps Program, is housed and supported by the Center for Health Disparities Research and Education at Baldwin Wallace University. 40 full-time members are devoted to advancing the health and success of rural and urban Ohio communities

Health Professions Affinity Community introduces students to health-related careers while empowering them to address their community’s most persistent health disparities.
There are currently 87 active HPAC sites in 27 counties throughout the state of Ohio!
